Moreau House

Moreau house members At first there are a bunch of new guys who are strangers to you, but we slowly become family. The Congregation of Holy Cross on Campus

Young men who are students or graduates of St. Edward’s University can live in Christian community with candidates studying to be Brothers of Holy Cross. Moreau House, named after the congregation’s founder the Blessed Basil Moreau, CSC, is the campus residence.

The program enables students and candidates to live and pray with members of the Congregation of Holy Cross. They share meals, prayer, household chores and participate in a variety of service projects around Austin, the United States and across the globe.

Every member of the Moreau House community cooks twice a month and cleans a part of the house each week. They also serve breakfast to day laborers on Wednesday mornings. Life at Moreau House is comfortable and as busy as any residence hall. Every Friday, friends and family come to Moreau House for dinner, the highlight of everyone’s week.

This program is a unique, rewarding experience that enables interested students to pursue a spiritual journey of living within and learning about the Holy Cross mission.
