Strategic Priorities

The Blueprint for Our Vision

The 2010 strategic plan set the direction for the future of St. Edward’s University. As the campus expands and changes to meet the needs of future community members, university administrators and architects have worked to sustain the spirit that makes St. Edward’s so special.

In Fall 1999, the St. Edward’s University administration solicited the input of faculty, staff and students to help determine what steps were needed for the university to achieve the 2010 strategic plan. The process identified seven strategic priorities for St. Edward’s University, which were endorsed by the Board of Trustees in November 1999.

Seven Strategic Priorities

Now that 2010 is just around the corner and many of the initiatives set forth in the master plan are complete or close to completion, university leaders will once again look to the future to determine how best to meet the new challenges that lie ahead.

The recent launch of the university’s Global Understanding Initiative addresses the emergence of a global society and the role St. Edward’s plays in better preparing our students for living, working and serving in a world community.

As we enter the second decade of the 21st century, St. Edward’s is fully committed to providing students with the knowledge, skills and orientations they need to successfully understand and navigate the global society in which they will increasingly participate.
