The vice president and associate vice president in each of these areas reports to the executive vice president and provost.

The vice president for academic affairs focuses on strategic planning, the review and development of academic policy, the organization of the Schools, the continued strengthening of assessment, the furthering of the University's global initiatives, and the coordination of faculty development initiatives.

The associate vice president for academic affairs oversees student academic issues and policies, facilitates delivery of the support services necessary to the efficient operation of the college and university and retention, and assists students with academic issues including exceptions to policies. Confirmed cases of academic dishonesty are also reported to the associate vice president.
