Project Management (MSPM)
The Master of Science in Project Management program at St. Edward’s gives you the knowledge and skills to bring complex projects to successful conclusion — on time, on budget and meeting specifications. Armed with this highly sought after degree, you’ll be prepared for advanced project management positions in industries as varied as energy, consulting, healthcare, entertainment, government, education and construction.
Built on the Project Management Body of Knowledge®, established by the Project Management Institute, this program blends theory and practice. You’ll delve into project management basics, such as scheduling, budgeting and risk analysis. And you’ll balance those skills with studies in business ethics, human relations and leadership.
Master of Science in Project Management
Overview:
In the MS in Project Management program, you’ll learn every aspect of managing large, multifaceted projects from start to finish. You’ll hone your expertise in scheduling, quality control, resource management and conflict resolution. And you’ll focus on problem solving and decision making through case studies, team exercises and hands-on projects.
Depending on their prior work experience, graduates will be equipped to move up to project manager, project portfolio manager and even chief project officer positions. Graduates in this fast-growing field land jobs that include overseeing software development projects, coordinating construction projects for a transportation agency or implementing a company-wide restructuring plan across a global corporation.

CORE COURSES
Students take core courses that include Business Law and Ethics, Quality Management, and Project and Change Management.
ADVANCED COURSES
Students complete advanced courses that include Global Project Management, Project Scheduling and Cost Control, and Project Risk Management.
CAPSTONE COURSE
Your final course, a Capstone, combines knowledge and skills learned throughout the program. You might develop a comprehensive project management manual or team up with fellow MSPM students on a project for a business, nonprofit or government agency. - South By Southwest® (SXSW®) Music, Film and Interactive Media Festival: Students defined improvements to a critical area of the SXSW website and planned the development, testing and implementation of the web pages.
- Williamson County, Texas: Students established plans for a Dispute Resolution Center for the county. They conceptualized the center in terms of mission, stakeholders, funding and staffing, and identified the work elements and their timing.
