Why I Teach
I want students to be challenged in the classroom — to discover that they are of capable of pushing themselves to achieve more than they thought was possible. Using lectures and interactive teaching styles, my goal is to facilitate learning not only about psychology, but to also provide knowledge and abilities that will last a lifetime. Part of my teaching is centered on helping students become considerate and open-minded individuals who are sensitive to the diverse thoughts and experiences of others.
After a semester of rigorous coursework, my ideal is to send my students off with more depth and breadth in their understanding of the field of psychology. And my greatest reward as a teacher is realized when I see how they open their eyes to diversity in all its rich meanings.
