Why I Teach

I set high standards — first for myself, and then for my students. I demand excellence but also offer support to those who strive to achieve it. I do my best to be creative and encourage others to do the same.

When I was a student, several professors were so intellectually stimulating that I saw their careers as a model for my own future. I teach to inspire students, to question traditional views, to think about many of life’s challenges and to make a difference.
