Why I Teach

My students are at the center of all of my teaching. Issues of diversity and equity are also equally central to my approach. To better prepare teachers for increasingly diverse settings, I help them explore the multiple ways that race, class, gender and sexual identity influence their work and shape the experiences of future learners.

I also teach because of the tremendous impact it has had on my own life. I have discovered that I am a better person when I am working with my students.
