Why I Teach

I teach the same way I practiced journalism for nearly 20 years — with heart. My purpose is to introduce people to the world around them, a world we walk in daily but often fail to see. Thinking about current events, and learning to report and write on the issues, focuses one’s thinking and ability to clearly express oneself.

I love journalism and young people. I take pride in the part I’m playing to train future journalists.
