Why I Teach
Imagination is central to the learning and teaching process. It allows both teacher and learner to engage unfamiliar discourse and enter into constructive conversation with the other. I seek to affirm the experiences students bring to the classroom and challenge them to reflect upon their prior assumptions.
Education is personally and socially transformative. The “big questions” must be asked anew in each generation. Through this educational journey, I find a rare and beautiful opportunity to combine my passion for ideas with my interest in the lived experience of individuals.
