Why I Teach

The highlight of my teaching comes as I watch students become intellectually aware and ethically responsible. I foster an environment where creative discovery and growth occur through game play, service and interdisciplinary learning. Students begin to take ownership of their education and incorporate new skills and knowledge to make a difference.

I enjoy spending time with students — giving feedback and engaging in critical dialogue. Through our interactions, students develop accountability, discipline and confidence. It’s the most fulfilling work I’ve accomplished in my career.
