Why I Teach

I don’t limit my teaching style to a single metaphor. I use a variety of teaching techniques to fit the relevance of the subject. For example, if I’m teaching presentation skills, then I’m very much a trainer and a coach. If the subject is communication and culture, I become a tour guide and social commentator. And if the topic is rhetoric and religion, then I’m part theologian and part rhetorical critic. Regardless of what method I am using, I always seek to bring out the critical thinker in my students.
