Why I Teach
Most of the students I teach are preparing for positions in industry, graduate school or professional school. To help them reach their goals, I structure my teaching approach so that they systematically gain a rigorous and complete understanding of the coursework. While I guide students to develop fundamental skills, I also focus on getting them to think independently.
I believe that students in the sciences must be articulate speakers and writers, so I incorporate this outcome into my classes. It is very rewarding to play a role in transforming students into serious scientific investigators.
