Why I Teach

My goal as a teacher is to attract students to the process of learning. This means trying to get young people to focus on learning rather than just grades, and to discover the joy of understanding concepts and ideas. Although this process requires discipline and work, learning new information should also be exciting and fun.

There are few activities more important than helping people learn, whether this is through teaching students or making discoveries through fundamental research.
