Why I Teach

My approach to teaching involves sharing my enthusiasm for learning with students but also learning from them — recognizing that they have their own stories and truths, perspectives and goals.

From my classroom, I want them to take a willingness to question, to weave together different viewpoints, to engage fully with the mysteries and paradoxes that cultivate knowledge.

I feel fortunate to be a part of an institution offering opportunities to learn about the world in so many ways and to make use of that knowledge in situations that challenge, sustain, humble and enrich us.
