Why I Teach

For every class, I ask students to bring curiosity, humor, persistence and purposefulness. I make sure that learning takes place in a collaborative and challenging environment. I seek to engage students in the personal, community and global implications and applications of what they are studying.

Being an educator at St. Edward’s University is a distinct honor. I love to teach literature and writing, in particular, because they invigorate the imagination and provide one with a practical toolkit of intellectual skills to effectively navigate the world.
