Why I Teach

I teach because I love discussing what matters most in the world and connecting academic issues to contemporary concerns. I use a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning preferences by combining lecture, discussion, group work and activities outside of the classroom. I respect diverse backgrounds and insights, and work to create an atmosphere of creativity and critical thinking.

My goal is to guide students in the process of becoming well-informed, engaged citizens of their local and global communities. I believe that teaching is a distinct opportunity to contribute to positive social change.
