U.S. News and World Report America's Best Colleges 2008Academic Highs
St. Edward’s rose to 20th in the West in the 2008 edition of "America's Best Colleges" by U.S. News & World Report. Attributed to the rise were higher enrollment numbers, SAT scores and retention rates. This marks the university’s fifth consecutive year among the top 25 master's-granting institutions in the West.

Campus Additions
The completion of new and renovated buildings — bringing much-needed classroom and living space to campus — was acknowledged at the meeting, including:

  • Fleck Hall renovations were completed, providing a new home for the School of Education.
  • The Casa opened its doors as a new residence hall for upperclassmen.
  • A three-level parking garage now offers more than 750 spaces for students, visitors, and faculty and staff members.
