Fall Magazine Highlights Moreau Beatification
Hot off the presses, the Fall 2007 issue of St. Edward’s University Magazine provides an in-depth look at the recent beatification of Father Basil Moreau (1799–1873). The French priest and educator — who founded the Congregation of Holy Cross in 1837— was beatified during a ceremony in Le Mans, France (Sept. 14–16).

In the Catholic Church, beatification is the third of four steps on the path to becoming a saint. Look for your magazine for more details about how someone becomes beatified and what next steps toward Moreau’s sainthood entail.
