What will central Texas look like in 10 years? How does St. Edward's plan to give back to our environment as it continues to grow? Check your mailbox for the Winter 2006 edition of St. Edward's University Magazine, which will examine sustainability within our environment, society and business practices. Get a firsthand glimpse at how others are grappling with - and triumphing over - a range of issues that are linked to sustainability:

• Trace the life of a coffee bean from harvest to cup at
  Meadows Coffee House.
• See how 13 students and 7 volunteers improved the lives of mentally and physically challenged children and adults in the poverty-stricken community of Canto Grande, Peru.
• Hear how the School of Natural Sciences plans to foster student research opportunities in forest and rangeland ecology through a $230,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
