WHY STUDY ABROAD?

Do You Really Have To Ask?

The world is a book and those who do not travel read only a page.
  - Saint Augustine

  • Students from every major can benefit from an international experience. Take classes in your major and continue to make progress toward your degree.

  • Programs exist worldwide. You can study in English as well as in the host country language.

  • Students exploring their major options may discover a new interest while studying abroad that can help in choosing a major and career path.

  • Financial aid and scholarships can be applied to many programs. Federal financial aid can be applied to all programs. SEU scholarships can also be used on the SEU exchange programs. Students may also apply for scholarships specifically for study abroad.

  • Improve your language skills by immersing yourself in the language you are learning.

  • Expand your cultural horizons and learn a lot about yourself. You learn as much about U.S. culture as you do about the host country while studying abroad.

  • Live with a family to improve your language skills and deepen your cultural experience. You can also live in a residence hall or apartment with other students.

  • Short-term study abroad opportunities exist. You can study for a month, a six-week summer session, a semester, or an academic year.

  • Internship, volunteer, and work opportunities are available. You can gain valuable skills to strengthen your resume while traveling in other countries.

  • With planning and an early start, you can have multiple international experiences while in college.

What are you waiting for? Expose yourself to the world!
