Who does Student Disability Services help?
We assist any students with:
  • Medical disabilities, such as diabetes, asthma, migraines
  • Learning disabilities, such as a reading disorder, math disorder, ADHD
  • Psychiatric disabilities, such as depression, anxiety, Asperger’s Syndrome
How do I qualify for services?
  • Contact a disability counselor

  • Submit documentation of your disability

Will my student records indicate that I am a student with a disability?
Documentation of your disability is kept confidential and is not part of your academic files.

How can Student Disabilities Services help me?
We can assist students by providing:
  • Letters of accommodation that will be delivered to professors
  • Academic counseling
  • Information about campus and community resources
What kinds of accommodations might I receive?
Reasonable accommodations based on section 504 requirements are always determined based on a student’s individual diagnosis and experience, however some possible accommodations are:
  • Extended time on tests
  • Quiet, alternate location to take exams
  • Negotiable course deadlines and attendance with instructor approval
  • Books in alternate format

What if I have not been diagnosed with a disability but suspect I may have one?
Make an appointment with an SDS Counselor to discuss your options.
