Note Taking

College is a time when more information will be presented to you via lectures and textbooks than you can possibly remember.   Condensed notes of class and reading material will be vital to success in your college coursework.   You may already have a style of note taking that works for you in most classes but need help in courses where your primary method just does not seem to work.   In addition, improving your skills in identifying the main topics while you are reading or listening to lecture will make you a more efficient note taker. This will allow you to think about the material and process as you go rather than simply scrambling to write everything down.   As always, should you have questions on this topic, please feel free to contact an APSS academic counselor.
