
Andy Lemons joined St. Edward’s in September 2009 as the university’s campus recreation coordinator. In this role, he oversees all operations of the Campus Recreation program, including the Fitness Center, aquatics, intramural programs, and club sports. Before coming to St. Edward’s, Lemons served as assistant director for campus activities at UT–Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas for two years. While at UT–Southwestern, he managed all campus recreation activities, including intramural sports, fitness programs, an outdoor recreation program, informal recreation and facilities operations. In addition, he assisted in the preparation and execution of large scale campus events and the training of CPR for university student workers. Prior to UT–Southwestern, Lemons managed the aquatics, recreation and leagues for Texas Instrument’s corporate fitness program in Dallas.
Before moving to Dallas, Lemons served as a graduate assistant in the Recreational Sports department at Sam Houston State University, where he earned a master’s degree in Education. In this role, he oversaw the Facilities and Informal Recreation programs, and assisted with the planning and funding of a large recreational sports complex expansion. In addition, he assisted with intramural sports and special event programming. Lemons earned a bachelor’s degree in History from UT–Austin, where he was active as an intramural sports official and a program assistant. He helped coordinate and execute day-to-day tasks, on-site event management and training for staff and officials.
