
Adrian Rigby is entering his fourth season as the assistant men's soccer coach for St. Edward's
During his time at St. Edward's, the team achieved an NSCAA top-25 ranking in 2005 and was named an NSCAA all-academic team in 2006 and 2007. Rigby has also been active for several years in the local and state soccer community, working with local club teams and the South Texas Olympic Development Program.
Rigby came to St. Edward’s after serving as the graduate assistant coach/head goalkeeper trainer at Midwestern State University for two seasons. In 2003, the school advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight, and in 2004, Midwestern’s goalie was named Southwest Soccer Conference Goalkeeper of the Year. Rigby also served as a trainer and head goalkeeper coach for the Xpress Soccer Club in Wichita Falls, Texas.
He began his coaching career at Dan River High School in Danville, Va., as the head women’s head coach in 2001. After six months at Dan River, he spent two months as the director of the Summer Soccer Academy at Hargrave Military Academy. He also served as the graduate assistant at Averett University and as an assistant coach for the Peach Arch United Soccer Club in White Rock, B.C., Canada.
Rigby, a native of North Delta, British Columbia, Canada, graduated from Averett University in 2001 with a BS in Sports Medicine/Wellness and completed his MEd in Curriclum Instruction/Kinesiology at Midwestern State University in 2005.
A four-year starter at Averett, he was selected to the 1998 all-state team and 1998 and 2001 all-conference teams. Rigby also played professionally with the Vancouver 86’ers reserve squad of the A- League in 1999. He holds a USSF ‘B’ license and NSCAA Goalkeeping Level-1 and Level-2 certificate.
In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Rigby also serves as an instructor in the Kinesiology program at St. Edward's.
