Tony Riehl begins his first season as head coach of the Hilltopper Cross Country squad.
Riehl, who not only holds experience coaching numerous sports, is life-long educational administrator. He is currently an adjunct professor for St. Edward's and was most recently Superintendent of Schools for both Nacogdoches Independent School District (1998-2006) and Dripping Springs Independent School District (1994-98).
His coaching experience had him as Head Basketball Coach at Italy (Texas) High School, Maypearl (Texas) High School and Bishop David (Kentucky) High School. He was also a graduate assistant coach for the Indiana State Basketball Team. Riehl was an assistant basketball coach and head men's golf coach at Adrian (Michigan) College.
Riehl holds a Bachelor's of Science degree from Nebraska and a Masters of Arts in Physical Education from Indiana State. He also holds a Masters of Education from North Texas and a Doctorate of Education from Texas A&M-Commerce.
