Logan Lawrence named Heartland Conference Sports Information Director of the Year
DALLAS, Texas - The Heartland Conference is proud to announce that Logan Lawrence, from St. Edward's University has been named the 2008-09 Sports Information Director of the Year for the conference. Lawrence was nominated and voted on by his fellow SID's in the conference.
Logan said, "It is such a honor to be recognized by your peers. I know that everyone of our SID's are deserving of this award. I would like to thank everyone for their kind words."
Logan was selected because of his ability to go beyond the call of duty. A few of Lawrence's fellow SID's in the conference said:
"Logan has done a lot of work to make sure we the Heartland Conference reaches for a higher standard. He invests a lot of his own time to come up with ideas that would help make us better overall. He took the time to run the conference call for the all-region voting, help come up with the new standards for roster sheets and Statcrew set up; and has always been willing to lend a hand to help out," said Richard Acosta, SID for UTPB.
While Derek Smolik said, "Logan worked at Heartland Conference Championships that were not hosted on his campus three times this year. He is also a consistent leader in getting the SID's voting for All-Region and Academic All-American."
Larry Northcutt SID for the Heartland Conference said, "Logan is more than deserving of this honor. He is consistently striving to make the conference better. He is always willing to help out with Conference tournaments or calls."
