Hilltoppers place a conference-leading eight players on All-Heartland Conference Team

AUSTIN, Texas - Eight Hilltopper baseball players were named to the All-Heartland Conference Team by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.  Senior's Bradley Goldsmith, Brian Thomas, Josh Dale, and Robert Hays were named to the first team.  Senior David Wagner, junior Chris Dinges, junior Drew Cross, and sophomore Dexter Moreno were named to the second team.

Goldsmith led the way for this outstanding group of Hilltoppers, hitting .404 with 12 home runs, 62 runs scored, and 33 runs batted in.  Thomas is hitting .391 with 39 RBI's and 43 runs scored.  Hays is hitting .361 on the year 26 runs scored and 17 RBI's.  Dale (7-1) has worked 66.2 innings and posted a conference-leading 1.76 earned run average.

Wagner (3-1) has a 2.60 earned run average and has saved a conference-record 14 saves.  Dinges is hitting .312 this season with nine home runs, 41 RBI's, and 14 stolen bases.  Cross, a Hilltopper newcomer, has hit .326 with eight home runs and 39 RBI's.  Moreno has hit .307 with six home runs and a team-leading 42 RBI's.

The Hilltoppers will be back in action Friday as they travel to San Antonio, Texas to take on Incarnate Word.  The teams will play two games with the first one beginning at 1 p.m.
