Hilltoppers make NCAA Division II Tournament for third-straight year

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The St. Edward's men's basketball team has been selected for an at-large berth into the NCAA Division II National Tournament as announced by the Tournament Selection Committee Sunday evening.

St. Edward's (23-6) will be the number seven seed in the South Central Regional and will take on second-seeded Northwest Missouri State at 2:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.  The Bearcats have a 23-7 record and won the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association Conference Tournament on Sunday.

The selection was the third-straight for the Hilltoppers, but first as an at-large bid.  This was also the first time in Heartland Conference history that two teams will play in the national tournament.

The South Central Regional will be hosted by Tarleton State in Stephenville, Texas.  The regional quarterfinals will be held on Saturday, with the semifinals on Sunday and championship on Tuesday.  The winner of the regional will advance to the Elite Eight, March 26-29 at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Mass.
