2007-08 St. Edward's Cheerleading

Cheerleading

The St. Edward’s University Spirit Program (cheerleaders and mascot) is a unique combination of fun, challenges, friendships, and experiences to remember for a lifetime. The cheerleaders and Topper provide spirit for Volleyball, Men’s Basketball, and Women’s Basketball games as well as serve as ambassadors of the University at events on and off campus. As athletes themselves, the cheerleaders also compete at cheer competitions.

Being a St Edward’s Cheerleader requires dedication and commitment. Practices are currently held Mondays and Wednesdays from 2-4 p.m. and Tuesday (conditioning) from 7-8 a.m. Scholarships are awarded based upon tenure and leadership capabilities. The Cheer team attends the UCA camp at State in the summer. There is a pre-camp work week in conjunction with our own cheer camp for kids the week prior.

MISSION
The mission of the St. Edward's Spirit Team is to promote school spirit and enthusiasm in support of the university athletic teams. Also important, is the role of the cheerleaders and mascot as representatives of the student body, faculty and staff through community service. The St. Edward's University Cheerleaders are dedicated to growing as athletes themselves, representing the university by participating in competition.
