Hilltoppers move up to seventh after round two

HOUSTON, Texas - The 7th-ranked St. Edward's men's golf team shot a second-round 285 to move up to seventh place at Memorial Park Golf Club at the NCAA National Tournament.

St. Edward's (284-285=569) is 10 shots behind leader Georgia College and State (287-272=559), who shot an amazing eight-under par as a team on Thursday. Indianapolis (280-284=564) is in second place with Clayton State (273-293=566) holding up the three spot.  West Florida (292-275=567), Colo.-Colorado Springs (291-276=567) and Grand Canyon (282-285=567) are all tied for fourth place just two shots ahead of the Hilltoppers.

Junior Andrew Workman (70-69) shot one under-par and is tied for 8th place.  Sophomore Collin Mayer (72-71=143) was tied for 33rd place. Sophomore Matt Smith (71-73=144) and freshman Matthew Hatcher (72-72=144) are both tied for 44th place.  Senior Jeff Howard (71-76=147) is tied for 69th place.

Florida Southern's JudeEstaquio (63-74=137) and West Florida's Kyle Scott (72-65=137) lead the tournament after shooting three-under par through the first two days.

The Hilltoppers will be back in action Thursday with round three.  They will begin their tee times at 1:35 p.m. with the last player to tee off at 2:13 p.m.
