Hilltoppers in seventh place after Day One of North Alabama Spring Classic
MUSCLE SHOALS, Calif. - The St. Edward's men's golf team shot a first round 302 Monday, during day one of the North Alabama Spring Classic.
St. Edward's (302) are currently in seventh place. They are thirteen shot behind the leader, North Alabama (289). Washburn (292) and Central Missouri (296) are close behind the leader. Indianapolis (298), Rollins (300), and Lynn (301) are all ahead of the Hilltoppers.
Freshman Santiago Quintero (73) leads the team and is in a tie for 12th. Quintero is only four shots off of the lead, as Washburn's Dustin Yeager (69) sits atop the leader board. Senior Andrew Workman (74) is the only other Hilltopper in the top-20 as he is tied for 16th place.
Other notable Hilltoppers were junior Matt Smith (77) who is in a tie for 33rd. Junior's Matthew Hatcher (78) and Collin Mayer (78) are in a tie for 45th.
St. Edward's will be back in action Tuesday for the final round at the Robert Trent Jones at the Shoals Fighting Joe Course.
