Calandro named NSCAA Second-Team All-Midwest Region
AUSTIN, Texas - Sophomore John Calandro was named second-team all-region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Tuesday afternoon.
Calandro, a native of Dallas, Texas was second on the team in goals (4), assists (4) and points (12). The forward had two goals versus Newman and one goal and an assist in a victory over UT-Permian Basin in back-to-back games. In both games, Calandro had the game-winning goal. He did all of this while only playing in 14 of the team's 20 games because of injury.
St. Edward's finished with a 9-10-1 overall record and a 7-3 record in the Heartland Conference. The conference mark was good enough to give the Hilltoppers a second-place finish.
