Three Hilltoppers named to All-Heartland Conference Team
DALLAS, Texas - Three members of the St. Edward's women's basketball team were selected to the All-Heartland Conference Team on Thursday. Sophomore Sara Head was selected to the first team, while sophomore Haley Tidwell was named to the second team and senior Tammy Bartosh was selected as honorable mention.
Head, a Keller, Texas native, averaged 8.8 points and led the Hilltoppers with 6.6 rebounds a contest. The forward got hot down the stretch, scoring in double figures in 10 of the last 11 and tallying four double-doubles in that span. She averaged 13.3 points down the stretch.
Tidwell, a Boyd, Texas native, led the team in scoring (10.1 ppg) and three-point shooting, making 39 three-point baskets. She was also second on the team in free-throw shooting, connecting on 87 percent (60-69) of her shots from the charity stripe.
Bartosh, a Duncanville, Texas native, averaged 7.1 point per contest and was second on the team in rebounding at 5.2 rebounds per game. Bartosh also led the Hilltoppers in three-point shooting accuracy, making 34.3 percent of her shots from behind the arc.
The Hilltoppers finished the season with a 12-17 record and finished third in the Heartland Conference. They advanced to the Heartland Conference Tournament Final for the first time in school history.
