Hilltoppers finish fourth at NCAA Division II West Regional
AUSTIN, Texas - The seventh-ranked St. Edward's men's golf team shot a final-round 318 to finish fourth in the 2008 NCAA Division II Women's Golf West Regional Wednesday afternoon at The Legacy Golf Club.
St. Edward's (312-311-318=941) who was only seven shots out of the lead after day two, struggled in day three losing ground to Tarleton State (318-301-291=910) who finished first, while Western Washington (319-297-298=914) and St. Martin's (320-301-319=940) finished second and third, respectively.
Tarleton State's Shraddhanjali Singh (76-73-69=218) took home medalist honors, while both senior Allison Kinser (76-76-78=230) and freshman Alex Smith (79-75-76=230) finished in a tie for 10th place.
Also competing for the Hilltoppers were sophomore Jacqueline Struck (78-81-79=238) who tied for 17th place and junior April Fields (79-81-85=245) who is tied for 24th. Senior Kelly Rigsby (82-79-87=248) ended tied for 26th place.
St. Edward's ends its season ranked second in the season and 13th in the nation.
