Hilltoppers win 2008 Broncho Masters Classic
EDMOND, Okla. - St. Edward's freshman Dina O’Brien and Kirby Baker finished in a tie for second place and led St. Edward's to a first place finish in the 2008 Broncho Masters Classic at Fairfax Golf Club.
St. Edward's (308-321=629) battled 40 mph wind gusts on Tuesday and finished in first place, thirteen shots ahead of Central Oklahoma (311-331=642). Cameron (316-335=651) finished in third place.
O’Brien (75-78=153) and Baker (73-80=153) tied for second place, just two shots behind Central Oklahoma’s Emily Leahey (73-78=151).
Junior Emily Kvinta (81-77=158) finished in 5th place, while senior April Fields (79-86=165) tied for 15th place. Freshman Sarah Shaikh (82-90=172) tied for 28th place and junior Erin Redfield (84-89=173) finished in 31st place. Sophomore Caitlin Locke (91-89=180) finished in 39th place.
The Hilltoppers will be back in action February 23, 2009 at the Lady Rattler Roundup in San Antonio.
