St. Edward’s blanks Temple College, 9-0
AUSTIN, Texas - The St. Edward's women's tennis team downed Temple College, 9-0, Tuesday afternoon at the South Austin Tennis Center.
St. Edward's (5-10) started doubles play off by sweeping all three matches. The Hilltoppers matches at the number two and three positions by the same exact score, 8-2. Junior Regina DelBosque and sophomore Elizabeth Jacobi teamed up to defeat Anna Lobritz and Natalie Foster, 8-0.
In singles play, each Hilltopper from the number one thorugh five position only lost one game during their matches. Freshman Isabel Serrano defeated Evelyn Escobedo, 8-6, at the number six position.
The Hilltoppers will be back in action Saturday when they host Cameron. First serve is set for 2:30 p.m. at the South Austin Tennis Center.
