Ragsdale Center Information/Reservations

University Events

The Information/Reservation Desk on the main level is the central point of information for guests of the Ragsdale Center. Guests of the Ragsdale Center visit the Information/ Reservation Desk for the following services:

  • Managers' Offices
  • Reservations
  • Room Access
  • A/V Equipment Requests
  • Posting
  • Lost and Found
  • A/V Equipment Requests
  • Game Room Equipment
  • Registration for Event Set-Up

All requests for reservation of space and audio/visual equipment in the Ragsdale Center must be made through the Information Desk. Each reservation must have one individual designated as the contact for all communications regarding the reservation. This designated person will also assume responsibility for the condition of the space after the event. Inquiries about the availablility of space for regularly scheduled meetings or special events can be made by phone. After the request has been reviewed and all necessary information is confirmed, a Ragsdale Center Manager will confirm your reservation by phone or email.

University events and meetings will receive priority for space reservations in the Ragsdale Center. Reservations are granted on a first come, first served basis, and should be made well in advance of the event in order to ensure space availablility.

The Meadows Coffeehouse and Millie and Tay's Game Room can be reserved for special University programs, but will not be available for reservation by external groups during the fall and spring academic sessions. Jones Auditorium can be scheduled for academic classes or reserved for special events.
Information for Non-University Groups
Room reservation fees are in effect for non-University events and groups. Not-for-profit organizations are eligible for a 20% discount on reservation fees with documentation of not-for-profit status. Occupancy figures reflect both conference seating and auditorium seating. Additional fees will apply for the use of audio/visual equipment, special room set ups and technical support.

St. Edward's also offers lodging and meals for conference groups. Meeting rooms and dining services are available year round. Lodging in residence halls or apartments is available during the summer months only, and is limited to not-for-profit groups.

Cancellation Policy

In consideration of the community's needs for meeting space, cancellation of reservations should be done immediately upon determining that the space will not be needed. Cancellations can be made by phone or in person.

Any organization, department or individual that does not occupy a reserved space and fails to cancel prior to scheduled start time will be considered a "no show." An organization or a department will be notified by letter of the first "no show" violation. A second "no show" violation will result in loss of privileges for reserving space on a semesterly basis, but reservations will be accepted on a weekly basis.

The Ragsdale Center Manager will determine the reinstatement of privileges based on the time of the semester the violation occurred. Loss of privileges may extend to the end of the current semester, or may include the following semester. "No show" violations which occur after a reinstatement of privileges may impact ability to reserve space in the Ragsdale Center on an ongoing basis.
