  • Getting A Good Letter of Recommendation: What Students Should Submit to the Professor
    1. A list of classes that you have taken with the professor, including semester (e.g. Spring 2007) and the grade that you received
    2. A statement of purpose: Why do you want to go to graduate school and what do you want to study? AND What are your ultimate professional intentions?
    3. A current resume or CV
    4. All of the materials needed to easily complete the process: addressed and stamped envelopes, exactly what programs you are applying to and any special considerations for that program, information to complete on-line recommendations, forms filled out unless the information is unknown.
    5. Submit the above information at least two weeks in advance of the deadline for the application. Without this information, it may be difficult to write a strong letter of recommendation for you.
