EXCITING CHANGES TO THE PSYCHOLOGY DEGREE PLAN - Effective Fall 2009

For junior/senior psychology majors, plan your psychology courses first for the fall semester.

NEW! Research & Field Experience course (PSYC 4359; 5 sections) will be offered in Fall 2009.

In Research & Field Experience students will choose to conduct research with the course instructor or to complete a psychology-related internship. Independent Research (PSYC 4348) and Internship (PSYC 4350/4650) will no longer be offered.

Here’s how this change will affect current psychology majors:

If you have not yet taken Independent Research or Internship:

  • Take Research & Field Experience AND
  • Take any other psychology course or you may repeat Research & Field Experience

If you have already taken either Independent Research or Internship

  • Take Research & Field Experience, which will replace the course you have not yet taken.

NEW! Capstone with Psychology Topics (4 sections) will be offered in Spring 2010 Students will complete the Capstone course with their Research & Field Experience instructor from fall 2009. This will complete a two semester research/experiential course sequence.
