MAHS Concentration: Human Resource Management


The Human Resource Management concentration is a comprehensive study of best practices for managing and developing employees. Assuming students meet all other qualifications, the Human Resource Management course (MGMT 6307) is designed to prepare students for the Society of Human Resource Managers’ Examination. Courses in the concentration focus on the challenges presented by an international workforce, development and training issues, compensation systems and labor relations.

Core Courses
[18 semester hours]

Concentration Specific Courses
Choice of two of the following courses:

HSAD 6323 Program Measurement & Evaluation

MGMT 6307 Human Resource Management (SHRM)

MGMT 6308 Human Resource Development

MGMT 6310 Compensation Management

Elective Courses
Choice of two of the following courses:

HSEL 6328 Internship

HSEL 6329 Special Topics Research

MGMT 6311 International HR Management and Labor Relations 

MGMT 6199/MGMT 6299 Executive Seminar Series (to equal 3 credit hours)

Any MAHS course where the prescribed prerequisites have been satisfied
