MBA
Certificate in Operations Management
Today's
Operations manager must be able to effectively deal
with both physical and information flows associated
with the creation and delivery of value to a customer.
This requires an in-depth understanding of the multiple
interdependencies within an organization and the ability
to effectively manage them. As such, the Operations
concentration draws on systems thinking (the recognition
and understanding of inter-dependencies) and the use
of the Theory of Constraints to effectively manage and
leverage their existence. Through our alliance with
the Goldratt Institute (www.goldratt.com) we provide
our students with access and exposure to the tools and
materials that organizations throughout the world are
using. The primary focus of the Production track is
on the things needed to insure plant performance, such
as the planning, scheduling and controlling of: production,
inventory, capacity, process improvement, product improvement,
logistics (inflow and distribution), and purchasing.
