Concentration: Sports Management
The Sports Management Concentration provides students
who are interested in sport related organizations with
the opportunity to learn the skills necessary to manage
in either the private or public sector. This concentration
is made up of four courses that familiarize students
with the theoretical and practical implications of the
management, marketing, legal, and ethical aspects of
sports. The scope of sports management in this context
includes small public schools athletic departments,
startup entrepreneurial ventures, professional sports,
and the larger sports industry.
Phase
I & II
The
MBA program consists of 18–22 semester hours of
foundation courses in Phase I, and 36–39 semester
hours in Phases II-IV (depending upon the concentration).
After reviewing the student’s transcripts at the
time of admission, the MBA Advisor determines
the number of foundation courses a student must take.
