MBA in Digital Media
Management
Curriculum to Expand Your Knowledge
The MBA in Digital Media Management consists of five semesters of course
work (54 hours of course credits). In year one,
you'll begin in the fall, move on to classes in the spring, followed by
the summer internship. Year two wraps up with
the final fall and spring semesters.
Fall Semesters: Two Seven-Week Sessions.
During each fall semester (two, seven-week sessions each), you'll expand
your knowledge of digital media and entertainment, while you hone your business
savvy. Required competencies:
- Management and leadership
- Organizational structure and operations
- Marketing
- Business law and ethics
- Finance, accounting and research and information systems
Spring Semesters: Two, Seven-Week Sessions
You can expect to achieve a more sophisticated level of business
acumen from your continued coursework during the spring semester. Each spring
semester consists of two, seven-week sessions. During this time, you'll learn
the nuts and bolts of digital media management. It's designed to prepare
you to participate in a project for a real-world enterprise that occurs during
the very hands-on summer internship.
Summer Semester: One, Eight-Week Hands-On Internship.
At St. Edward's, we know that it takes more than book learning to
be successful. So, we've incorporated an eight-week internship into the daytime
MBA in Digital Media Management to challenge you and to give you the opportunity
to apply what you've learned to a real-world setting. You'll spend one week
preparing for the internship, six weeks in hands-on mode and de-brief during
the final week of reflection. Your fellow students, faculty and professionals
in the digital media biz will be there to coach, critique and cheer you onto
success.
Year one:
During the first year, students develop their skills in the required core
business competencies: management and leadership of organizational structure
and operations, marketing, business law and ethics, accounting, finance,
research and information systems, as well as develop knowledge about digital
media and entertainment. Course delivery format will be in seven-week sessions.
A standardized examination of core business knowledge will conclude the first
year, and a passing grade will be required to continue in the Program.
