Submission Instructions
Submissions to the Perspectives in Business at St. Edward’s
University must meet the following formatting requirements.
Receipt of manuscripts will be acknowledged by email
within two working days. All manuscripts are reviewed
anonymously. The board will make its final selections
based on subject matter and diversity. Selection will
be announced by email.
Format
A manuscript must be no more than 12 pages in length
including charts and graphs, but excluding the cover
page, abstract, and reference list. It must follow formatting
and referencing guidelines as specified in the Publication
Manual of the American Psychological Association (5th
edition). This includes: 12 point Times New Roman font,
double spacing, 1 inch margins, manuscript page header
with page numbers, appropriate headings, citations in
text, and reference list.
Manuscripts should be free of grammar and usage errors
when submitted. Submit the manuscript and the tables,
figures, and charts in a single file. Manuscripts should
not contain links to other files. Use hard returns (Enter
key) only to end a heading or to end a paragraph and
begin a new one. Use tabs only to indent the beginning
of a new paragraph. Do not use automatic line numbering
or list numbering. Numbers should be typed in. Manuscripts
should be submitted in Microsoft Word.
The manuscript must include a cover page with the title
of the article, and the author’s name, affiliation,
position, and email address. The first page should include
the title of the article, but not the author’s
name. The manuscript must also include an abstract of
not more than 120 words and a reference list.
The manuscript should be accompanied by a three to five
line author biography.
Student papers must be sponsored by a faculty member
who will certify that the paper represents original
work, is free of plagiarism, and includes correct citations
and references.
Tables, Figures, and Charts
Each table, figure, or chart should be an original on
a separate page with instructions indicating where it
should be placed in the article. The font within tables,
charts, or figures should be no smaller than 8 points.
Submission
Manuscripts should be submitted electronically to PerspectivesinBusiness@perform-design.com.
All Word attachments must be named as follows: Last
name.First initial.Volume.Number.
