Post-Baccalaureate Certificate
in Accounting
The Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Accounting is
designed for students who hold a bachelor's degree in
fields other than accounting, and want to continue their
education to prepare for the CPA examination. To earn
the Certificate, candidates must:
1. Complete a minimum of 30 hours beyond the bachelor's
degree,
2. Complete at least 21 hours at St. Edward's University
(30 hours for students whose bachelor’s degree
is not from St. Edward’s),
3. Have completed 30 hours of accounting courses beyond
elementary accounting, and
4. Have completed at least 21 hours of related business
courses, and
5. Have completed a 3 hour Accounting Ethics course.
6. ACCT 3385, Accounting Internship, CANNOT be taken in the final semester.
To earn the certificate, students must apply for the
program, design a Certificate plan approved by the curriculum
coordinator, and successfully
complete all required courses.

Courses may be selected from
the general area list below. Courses may be undergraduate
or graduate level. Three hours of business law
and three hours of information systems are required.
Certificate candidates also must demonstrate proficiency
in the use of microcomputers. No more than six
semester hours in any one subject area below may
be counted toward the Certificate.

a grade point average of 2.0 or higher to earn the Certificate. |
