| Financial Aid
In
addition to applying for admission, students interested
in CAMP are required to complete a Free Application for
Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is available from
your high school guidance counselor's office after January
1. Students need to complete each section of the form and
request the information be forwarded to St. Edward's University.
The FAFSA should be completed early in the spring semester
of the student's senior year. Students accepted to CAMP
can expect a financial aid package that includes federal,
state and institutional grants and scholarships.
The financial aid package usually covers
almost all expenses for the first year except $2000. Most
students choose to cover the balance of $2000 with a low-interest
student loan made available through St. Edward's University.
Repayment of student loans usually does not begin until
a student has stopped attending school for more than six
months.
Commitment of Support Beyond the First Year
While the basic mission of CAMP is completion of the first two semesters of college, our commitment continues through graduation. We not only guarantee three additional years of institutional grants if students maintain satisfactory progress toward a degree, but we also extend additional support to students who achieve a strong grade point average.
St. Edward's University will pay tuition and provide $500 per year toward the cost of on-campus housing for students who maintain a 2.5-2.99 GPA. For students who maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher, the university will pay tuition and provide $1,000 per year toward on-campus housing.
You may also be eligible for private sector and academic scholarships, and we will help you identify and apply for scholarships from corporations, foundations and other private sources to offset the cost of continuing your education.
