Residence Hall Construction Moves Ahead

Good weather for the past several weeks keeps construction of the new residence hall on schedule. Site preparation is complete and concrete trucks arrive regularly as the foundation begins to take shape.

Names have been chosen for each of the new residence halls within the complex:

  • Lady Bird Johnson Hall recognizes the former first lady from Austin
  • Le Mans Hall honors the French hometown of Father Basil Moreau, founder of the Congregation of Holy Cross
  • Edmund Hunt Hall is named for Brother Edmund Hunt, the first Holy Cross Brother to serve as president of St. Edward's University

Check back for future updates and new photos as construction progresses.

As of June, the three levels of the hall are now complete. Brick is being installed on the north building.

Foundation work is well underway and the metal framework of many of the support columns is in place.

From early February, this photo shows the site in the very early stages. The stationary crane tower rises 100 feet above the site.
