How do I make arrangements for my summer conference?
St. Edward’s University offers a one-stop shop program for all of our potential summer conference groups. By simply making one phone call, you can arrange all housing, dining, meeting or athletic facilities for your summer conference. Laurelyn Gaede, 512-448-8605, laurelyn@admin.stedwards.edu.

While on campus, what do I do if I need assistance after hours or have an emergency?
All summer conferences are assigned at least one guest relations assistant. The assistant is your liaison and is responsible for taking care of your group’s needs. If there is an emergency, the liaison will contact University Police and they will contact local authorities if necessary.

Do my camp or conference participants have to walk long distances or cross any major traffic areas to get to meeting, dining, housing or athletic facilities?
No, conveniently located in the center of campus, meeting and dining services are located within a short walking distance of all residence halls and athletic facilities and participants do not have to cross any major traffic areas. In addition, all facilities on campus are handicap/wheelchair-accessible and meet all ADA regulations.

Is there parking on campus for my camp?
Yes, during the summer, ample parking is available in lots adjacent to your assigned residence halls. The Conference Services staff will make all necessary arrangements should you have guests that need on-campus parking.

What are my options for dining services?
We offer a summer conference buffet plan at varying prices and meal options designed with the conference group in mind. If you or a member of your group have any special dietary needs/requests or are a vegetarian, please inform Richard Morgan at 512-428-1016 so that those arrangements can be made. Catering services are available for any size group. For more information, please contact Sharon McMullen, Catering Manager, at 512-428-1014.

Are there entertainment activities in the hall for my group?
All the residence halls have either a pool table or ping pong tables and cable television. Depending on your group’s size and needs, the athletic facility, which includes a fitness center and swimming pool, can also be made available to your group. Downtown Austin is within a five-minute drive of the St. Edward’s campus. (Austin links) Bus transportation is available along Congress Avenue for 50 cents. Conference participants are also in walking distance of South Congress, which is famous for its eccentric shops, cafes, and restaurants.

Will my conference participants have Internet access?
The residence halls are equipped with Ethernet connections in each room, and computer labs throughout campus can be made available to your group depending on group size and needs.

What security measures are currently in place on campus?
The university is patrolled 24 hours a day, seven days a week by University Police. Access to residence halls is made available to guests staying only in that hall. All exterior doors require a key or card, and all interior room doors require an additional key. Each hall provides live-in staff, and residence hall doors come equipped with peephole views.
