Alcohol Skills Training Overview

The Alcohol Skills Training focuses on the positive and negative aspects of alcohol use along with psychological and physiological impact on individuals. The goals for the Alcohol Skills Training are the following:

  • Increase awareness about alcohol's impact on students individually and the university community;
  • Encourage students to make better choices for themselves by using accurate, informed choices about alcohol;
  • Correct misperceptions about alcohol use and avoid the hazards of alcohol misuse;
  • Develop a plan for having a great time, which may not always include using alcohol;
  • Identify the warning signs of a problem and where to get help, if needed.

To successfully fulfill the program requirements, the student agrees to complete the process that is summarized below. After meeting with the conduct officer, the student can complete the following in any order:

  • Receive information packet from the conduct officer
  • Complete Phase I Contract & Referral Form
  • Complete e-CHUG and e-TOKE online programs
  • Printout e-CHUG and e-TOKE Certificate & return to conduct officer
  • Sign up & attend Alcohol Skills Training (see below)
  • Complete additional assignments/proejcts as designated
