Melissa joined the Counseling & Consultation Center in August 2004. She was born and raised in El Paso, Texas, located on the border with Juarez, Mexico. She moved to Austin three years ago. Since then, she has earned a B.A. in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin and is pursuing a Master’s in Education with an emphasis on Counseling Education. She expects to graduate in December 2004. She hopes to continue her academic career by pursuing a doctorate in Counseling Psychology.
Melissa is excited about being part of the BACCHUS organization within the Counseling & Consultation center. She looks forward to working with the peer educators on developing the Safe and Healthy Choices program, as well as other college health issues. In addition to her Health Education Coordinator, she also holds a Career Counseling position at the Liberal Arts Career Services at The University of Texas at Austin. She is excited about continuing her career working with the college student population and university staff members. |
